🦘 Jump Ahead

Hey, there,

I have some news to share with you, both about the SEO landscape for churches and for ChurchSEO.io.

Here is what I'll cover in this newsletter:

  • QR Codes in Google Business Profile
  • Skip to Chapter 24: Homepage in the Church SEO Shapeup
  • A FREE BACKLINK YOU CAN BUILD
  • Price changes for ChurchSEO.io

But first, your meme:

QR Codes in Google Business Profile

Google just rolled out a nice new feature for Google Business Profiles: QR codes to ask for reviews.

This is a nice workflow change, because you used to have to go and generate a QR code somewhere else. Typically, I used Bitly to do that. But, that added time, and there is another problem coming with that: Bitly is going to start running interstitial ads on their redirects! Bad news!

You now likely have a QR code to ask for reviews. Print this in your bulletin. Put a sign with this next to your door. It's a handy feature.

Here is how to access it:

1 - Google your church's name. If you have access to the GBP, you'll likely see this come up:

Click on "Ask for Reviews."

When you click on that, you should see a QR code come up:

There you go!

I just got done writing the most powerful chapter in the Church SEO Shapeup. It's all about making a killer SEO optimized homepage that will maximize your discoverability in Google.

My brothers and sisters in Christ, I am giving away the farm with this chapter.

Normally, you would have to wait six months to get this chapter.

But, I'm letting you have it now.

Free Backlink

Faithtalk1360, a Christian radio station, maintains a church directory. It is a DR 29 (not too bad!) website, and the links it offers are dofollow, which means that they transfer SEO "juice" (yes, this is what we call it in the industry) to your church's website. This is a local citation, so make sure that you have 100 percent Name, Address, and Phone Number (NAP) parity with your Google Business Profile. You can build this link here: https://faithtalk1360.com/churchdirectory/submit

Also, this is one of the links that we build for you in both of our SEO packages.

Price Changes for ChurchSEO.io

I've reduced the cost of my Stratospheric Package to $249. This is my baseline SEO package that is designed to help you show up well in map results. It will also give you a little boost in link results.

I reduced it to this price point because it makes it accessible to a huge number of churches. If you have members with Thrivent policies, a Thrivent Action Team will cover the entire price.

On the other hand, my Orbital Package is underpriced. The Orbital Package is designed to help you show up better in both the map and the link results. I don't make much money from this package, as I have hundreds of dollars in costs associated with it in order to build the links that it offers. Plus, getting access to church's backends, learning the myriad content management systems that churches use, and sometimes even installing the necessary plugins means that I spend lots of time fulfilling this package.

And, it's a high-value package. For most churches, it will get them to page one of Google, and that's thousands of dollars worth of advertising every year.

I will probably be upping the price to $1,000 in about a month. Even that is underpriced, so I think it will eventually step up in cost as we go along.

However, I promise to keep this price at $750 until April 6, so that you have time to discuss it with your church council, etc.

God's blessings,

Pastor Chris Jackson

Greetings in Christ! I pray you had a blessed Easter. For the Jackson family, it was different, as it was the first Easter without our son at home. Still, a blessed occasion. I noticed a big change over the last few years - more people in Easter service than I've had in years. Many young people in the pews. I've heard many similar reports from fellow pastors and Christians worldwide on social media. Do you think there is some sort of global vibe shift, even something of a renewal happening?...
